The problem is clear, the solution is not easy. Unless faculty leave their comfortable passivity, this will not change, and universities like PSU will be run in the future as they have in the recent past. <br /><br />Take, for instance, the recent survey that concluded that more than 60% faculty at PSU thought there was an overemphasis in football that need to be changed. As a response, the university administration has not changed an iota of its focus on football, despite the scandals and the majority of opinion of its faculty, averaging the faculty opinion with that of the undergraduates! Instead, it ran a public relations campaign for "damage control" and return to the status quo of the Paterno days.<br /><br />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
