CONVOCATORIA ABIERTA PARA EL No 24 DE LA REVISTA IURIS DICTIO Dossier: Perspectivas contemporáneas del derecho de competencia
La revista Iuris Dictio invita a investigadores, practicantes y especialistas en derecho y economía de la competencia a enviar artículos para ser considerados como parte del dossier del número 24 de la revista, que será publicado el 15 de diciembre de 2019 y que tratará las perspectivas contemporáneas del derecho de competencia.
El derecho de competencia, una rama de estudio económico y legal que examina el rol de los mercados, está enfrentando retos políticos, sociales y tecnológicos muy distintos a aquellos bajo los que germinó a finales del siglo XIX. Hasta hace poco el derecho de competencia parecía avanzar sobre una ortodoxia relativamente predecible, pero ahora está siendo repensado desde ángulos que requieren una profunda reflexión sobre sus orígenes y postulados, especialmente en las formas en que debe -o no- adaptarse a los retos contemporáneos para continuar siendo una herramienta socialmente útil.
El dossier del número 24 de la revista luris Dictio, coordinado por los profesores Mario Navarrete Serrano y Oswaldo Santos Dávalos, y el doctorando Alberto Brown, está dirigido a académicos, especialistas, funcionarios públicos, y en general a abogados, economistas y profesionales interesados en el derecho de competencia y los retos contemporáneos que enfrenta.
A continuación, un ejemplo de temas relevantes para la composición del dossier, recordando que se considerarán todos los artículos que aborden su tema general y no solamente estos temas específicos:
- Reflexiones sobre los fines económicos del derecho de competencia: la ortodoxia del estándar del bienestar del consumidor, retorno al estructuralismo, aproximaciones progresistas y populismo.
- Los retos políticos del derecho de competencia y fines que trascienden lo económico: valores democráticos, cambio climático, redistribución de riqueza, desconcentración de la influencia política, justicia y otros fines.
- Retos tecnológicos del derecho de competencia: plataformas digitales, economía colaborativa, algoritmos de precios, big data, inteligencia artificial, blockchain, criptomonedas, etc.
- Reflexiones filosóficas alrededor de los retos contemporáneos del derecho de competencia.
- Diseño institucional de las agencias de competencia para enfrentar dificultades modernas.
- Colaboración regional para lograr una aplicación efectiva del derecho de competencia en tiempos de una economía globalizada.
- Disuasión, detección y sanción efectivas de los cárteles a la luz de los problemas contemporáneos.
- Diseño de multas adecuadas frente a economías globales o esquemas tecnológicamente sofisticados.
La convocatoria también está abierta para la recepción de artículos de cualquier otro tema legal, que serán destinados a la sección miscelánea, como resúmenes comentados de libros para la sección reseñas. Todos los artículos deben ser inéditos y no estar siendo considerados para otra publicación. Los artículos pueden estar escritos en español o inglés y deben tener una extensión comprendida entre 4.000 y 8.000 palabras (aprox. 16 páginas). La fecha límite de recepción de artículos es el 15 de junio de 2019.

The Iuris Dictio Journal invites researchers, practitioners and specialists in competition law and economics to submit articles to be considered as part of the dossier of number 24 of the journal, which will be published on December 15, 2019 and which will deal with the contemporary perspectives of competition law.
Competition law, a branch of economic and legal study that examines the role of markets, is facing political, social and technological challenges very different from those under which it was initially formed at the end of the 19th century. Until recently, competition law seemed to advance on a relatively predictable orthodoxy, but now it is being rethought from angles that require a deep reflection on its origins and postulates, especially in the ways in which it must-or not-adapt to contemporary challenges for continue to be a socially useful tool.
The dossier of number 24 of the magazine Luris Dictio, coordinated by professors Mario Navarrete Serrano and Oswaldo Santos Dávalos, and the doctoral student Alberto Brown, is aimed at academics, specialists, public officials, and in general to lawyers, economists and professionals interested in the right of competition and the contemporary challenges it faces.
Below, an example of topics relevant to the composition of the dossier, remembering that all the articles that address its general theme and not only these specific topics will be considered:
The call is also open for the reception of articles of any other legal subject, which will be assigned to the miscellaneous section, as commented summaries of books for the section reviews. All articles must be unpublished and not be considered for another publication. Articles may be written in Spanish or English and they must be between 4,000 and 8,000 words (approximately 16 pages). The deadline for receipt of articles is June 15 of 2019.

- Technological challenges of competition law: digital platforms, collaborative economy, price algorithms, big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, etc.
- Philosophical reflections around the contemporary challenges of competition law.
- Institutional design of competition agencies to face modern difficulties.
- Regional collaboration to achieve an effective application of competition law in times of a globalized economy.
- Effective deterrence, detection and punishment of cartels in light of contemporary problems.
- Design of adequate fines against global economies or technologically sophisticated schemes.
